Vigan - Laoag City,
ILOCOS NORTE

Riding fatbikes from Vigan to Laoag is an incredible off-road adventure across the changing Ilocos landscape . Leaving Vigan's historic streets behind, our massive four-inch tires let us cruise effortlessly over soft sand and coastal dirt tracks along the shoreline. We get to ride right next to the crashing waves, passing quiet fishing villages and scenic river deltas where standard bicycles would easily get stuck.

Crossing into Ilocos Norte, our wide tires prove their worth as we tackle the massive La Paz Sand Dunes just outside Laoag. Climbing the steep, wind-swept ridges gives us an amazing adrenaline rush and unmatched traction on the shifting desert sand. Finishing the trek in Laoag leaves us exhausted but proud, having conquered a unique mix of heritage trails, wild beaches, and rugged dunes together.

Puerto Princesa, PALAWAN

Fatbiking through Puerto Princesa is a thrilling mix of fast trail descents and stunning beach riding. Our wide tires give us amazing traction as we drop down loose gravel hills and slippery, mud-slicked singletracks hidden deep inside the tropical rainforest. The massive four-inch tires absorb every harsh bump from rocks and tree roots, giving us the confidence to fly down steep mountain ridges safely.

As the dense jungle canopy opens up, we burst right onto the soft sands of Puerto Princesa's pristine beaches. Standard mountain bikes would get hopelessly stuck here, but our bikes float effortlessly over the deep terrain, allowing us to cruise right along the crashing waves of the coastline. Splashing through shallow river mouths and moving from one hidden cove to the next makes this the ultimate off-road coastal adventure.

Mt. Pinatubo,
ZAMBALES

Our fatbike journey through Botolan, Zambales to the foot of Mount Pinatubo is an epic trek across a surreal, moon-like wilderness. Pedaling onto the expansive lahar roads, our massive four-inch tires float effortlessly over the deep volcanic ash and loose gravel fields left behind by the historic eruption. We conquer shifting sand tracks and splash through shallow, winding river streams, maintaining perfect traction where standard bicycles would instantly sink.

As we advance deeper along the lahar-carved riverbeds, the towering, rain-sculpted ash cliffs create a jaw-dropping canyon walls around us. The final push to the foot of the great volcano tests our endurance, but our wide tires provide incredible stability over the rocky terrain and steep washouts. Reaching the base of Mount Pinatubo leaves us completely awestruck, coated in dust, and proud to have mastered one of the most challenging off-road routes in the Philippines.

... more pedal soon

Our fatbike group is just getting started, and we are ready to cycle more miles, conquer tougher trails, and explore deeper into the unknown. Having mastered the historic sands of Ilocos, the dense jungle tracks of Palawan, and the rugged volcanic lahar roads of Mount Pinatubo, we are hungry for the next big challenge. We plan to push our wide tires to the limit, seeking out raw terrains and off-road expeditions that few other cyclists dare to touch.

Looking ahead, our group has an incredible hit list of wild destinations left to explore across the Philippines and hopefully other countries too. We are already planning to tackle the sweeping grass hills and steep ridges of Batanes, navigate the muddy jungle singletracks of Samar, and cruise the extensive, wind-swept coastal sand dunes of Ilocos Norte. No matter where the trail leads next, we are ready to keep pedaling together, discovering the country’s most beautiful and remote landscapes one epic ride at a time. We just keep on ...
